ReplyDeleteFormal structures and policies were developed to guarantee togetherness and continuity in the delivery of service. In a formal agency there is an established chain of commands and role delegation. A formal agency is designed to be effective. Informal agency structure has policies, rules, both written and unwritten, but clearly defined. This form is more flexible than a formal structure because roles are learned and defined through interactions rather than in written manuals. It is important to have both to help the human health agency be successful. Formal aspects are good for structure and durability and informal to help sustain human relationships and to allow the individuals working in the agency deal with one another without conflict.
