  1. Describe the difference between non assertive (passive), assertive, and aggressive behaviors.

Non-Assertive is when people deny their own right to be assertive and do not express their own thinking and feeling, which contributes nothing to enhancing the situation and can destroy self-confidence and self-respect.
Assertive is when people express their feelings and thinking in ways which they show respect for the right to personal worth and to equal self-expression of those with whom they are interacting. It can be constructive for both parties.
Aggressive is when people exercise their right to express their own feelings and thinking but in ways that attack those with whom they are interacting. This mobilizes aggression in others. pg.77

According to the text, a supervisor's style depends on his or her personality, level of desire and willingness to work with or supervise individuals, his or her abilities, the individual's availability, and how well the supervisor and supervisee's personalities match. (page 86)
